After having good standing for the entirety of my youtube experience, yesterday I was hit with 3 strikes(spread out over the day) on 3 Lego Blind bag toy review videos. No reason was given other than community guidelines, and my copyright stayed in good standing. The first strike did not do much, the second locked my account with losses of privilege, (2 week thing) and the 3rd terminated it(which is the rules if you get 3 in 6 months, they don’t seem to care if they happen within hours of each other).
I am following up with youtube and hope to get my channel back because these videos had no community guidelines errors. As you can imagine it’s shocking to have all your hard work just vanish with no answers. Apparently this can take a lot of time just to get an answer. I’d like to stress that I am a youtube partner and have been regularly uploading 1 or more videos every week for over a year and a half. I also had about 3,300 subscribers and over 1.6 million video views. Youtube should have a better system in place, one with real people actually looking at these claims. I’ll keep you guys posted if I hear anything from my appeals.
Missing Youtube,
Jennifer
Update: Youtube is reinstating my account, it will be back up sometime soon!
Further Update: It took over 2 months but my channel has been reinstated exactly as it was, the 3 videos that had strikes have also been given back with the strikes removed. My channel has also been returned to the previous good standing, and is no longer under ‘permanent suspension’. I received no word on why this happened other than a message saying that due to the large numbers of videos they receive, sometimes they make mistakes.
